Joe started in radio (WJAK, Jackson, TN) at the ripe old age of 15 (1971). During his 11 years there, he moved from weekend DJ to weekday afternoon host, Music Director and eventually Program/News Director and morning drive host.
In 1979, Joe accepted a position as 6 & 10pm weather anchor for WBBJ-TV, Jackson, TN, while maintaining his duties at WJAK.
Joe moved to Nashville in 1985 as morning weather anchor and co-host of the live weekday magazine show, ‘Talk of the Town”…which was listed as one of the highest rated local shows of its type in the country. As a matter of fact, all shows he was a part of (Morning News, Midday News and Talk of the Town) were constantly #1 in the Nashville market.
